AN open letter has been sent to the MP for Wantage and Didcot urging him to support the CE Bill at the start of COP27.

The letter, which was posted to David Johnston MP on Friday last week, has been signed by 26 councils, including four of the five Oxfordshire district councils.

A total of 180 businesses and organisations have also signed the open letter and more than 500 Oxfordshire residents have declared their support for the Climate and Ecology Bill by supporting the campaign.

Coordinator and spokesperson for Zero Hour Oxfordshire, Kate Oldridge, said: “We are inviting our MPs to meet with a Zero Hour representative to discuss their reasons for not supporting the bill in light of mounting support from citizens, councils and businesses in their constituencies, and to reconsider their position. Our Open letter remains open.”
