AN annual literary festival has returned after two years of cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Wantage Literary Festival kickstarted this week at The Beacon off Portway and will be taking place for two weeks until Saturday, November 5.

The festival will be featuring some new faces and welcoming back some old friends. Festival director Vicki Luker said she is “delighted” that the event is back.

“We had a very busy Monday at the Wantage Literary Festival,” she said. “We had some exceptional speakers.

“There are lots more events to look forward to over the next couple of weeks. Highlights to come include a Comedy@TheLitFest starring Ed Patrick – an NHS Anaesthetist, Lord David Owen discussing historic and current British-Russian Relations and Claire Williams talking about her late father ‘Sir Frank Williams’.”
