SWIMMING: Mullaney leads way
Amira Mullaney did best of the five Abingdon Vale swimmers who qualified for the South East Region Championships in the 50-metre pool at Aldershot.
Mullaney, 16, came sixth in the 50m butterfly (31.74secs) and eighth in the 100m butterfly (1min 11.05secs).
Mullaney set long-course club records in both races.
Emma Walton did likewise in the 50m freestyle (30.13) and 50m backstroke (34.32), while Richard Higgs recorded a club best of 27.80 in the 50m freestyle and Imogen West recorded 5.33.13 for the 400m individual medley.
Hannah Curtis got a longcourse pb in the 50m backstroke. The girls relay team finished 18th.
