TENNIS: One of my best says Henman
Tim Henman admitted his epic five-set victory over Carlos Moya in the first round at Wimbledon was up there with the best of them.
And he said it fully justified his decision to laugh away suggestions he should retire.
The British No 2, who lives at Aston Tirrold near Didcot, toughed it out for a stunning 6-3, 1-6, 5-7, 6-2, 13-11 win over the 30-year-old Spaniard.
"It's up there with the best of my matches here because of the quality of tennis," Henman said.
"I thought about the situation, stopping at 5-5 on Monday night.
"I felt that, if I'd come out and won eight points or lost eight points straightaway, it was just going to be an anti-climax, because it was such an incredible atmosphere.
"It speaks volumes for the way we both came out and really continued where we left off."
