FOOTBALL: Vale girls land plate
Vale of White Horse Primary Schools' girls team won the plate competition in a seven-a-side tournament in Woking.
Following a 2-0 defeat by Camberley in their first match, Vale improved greatley to beat Sutton B 3-0 with goals from Meg Crawford, April England and Sophie Baker
A goal in each half by Baker was enough to beat Gloucester A 2-0 and secure a place in the plate. a place in the Plate competition.
With Paris Sercombe replacing Thea Lennon in goal, Vale defeated Sutton A 1-0 thanks to a first-half strike from England plus good outfield defending from Lennon and some excellent saves from Sercombe.
In their final match, Vale produced a quality display to beat Frimley Green 3-0 through England (2) and Anna Jimenez.
