CRICKET: Letcombe's thrilling win is Taylor-made

Richard Taylor inspired newly-promoted Letcombe to a thrilling one-wicket victory over Great Horwood in OCA Division 1.

Taylor took 4-39 as Horwood, who were put in, reached 194 all out.

The all-rounder then starred with the bat, hitting 95 not out as Letcombe sneaked home.

Watlington beat Marsh Gibbon by two wickets in a low-scoring Division 2 match.

Ollie Jeacock's 71 helped Marsh Gibbon to 128-9, Nick Adby taking 4-29.

Watlington reached the target with eight wickets down, Chris Allen scoring 32.

East & West Hendred went down by six wickets against Freeland.

Andy Warren and Kevin Hole took three wickets apiece as Hendred were bowled out for 141. David Ackland (60no) steered Freeland home, Sam Walker chipping in with 39 not out.

Uffington were crushed by nine wickets away Stonesfield in Division 3.

Batting first, Uffington posted 156-9, Steve Willis scoring a half-century.

But the total never looked like being enough as Ben Redknap finished unbeaten on 101 for his first league century.

Morley Benson's 81 was the highlight of Clifton Hampden's 153 all out against Witney Swifts, for whom Alan Williams bowled a miserly spell of 4-6 in ten overs.

Jason Seacole (66no) and youngster Charlie Fisher (35no) saw Swifts to a seven-wicket victory.

Radley won a low-scoring encounter at West Ilsley by 12 runs.

In Division 4, Mick Wiskin's 4-29 looked to have put Wootton & Boars Hill in control after they bowled out Westcott for 151.

But a spell of 4-29 from Nadeem Raja saw Wootton skittled for 87 in reply.

Britwell Salome lost by one wicket to Oxenford.

Aaron Hirtenstein (3-15) and David Gwynn (3-23) helped dismiss Britwell for only 89, before Oxenford stumbled their way to 90-9 in a tense finish.

Dorchester made it two wins out of two in Division 6 as they beat Hanney by six wickets.

Thom Airs took 4-18 as Hanney were shot out for 81, before Ali Line (36no) saw Dorchester to victory.

Wantage posted 166-9 on a damp pitch, as they beat Steventon by 65 runs in Division 7 Barry Martin top-scored with 51, while under 15 player Ryan Gordon fell just short of a half-century on 45.

Joe Braham (3-14) and Tom Pill (3-32) then combined to bowl out Steventon for 101.

In Division 8, Kennington 2nd lost to Garsington 2nd by 22 runs.

Garsington posted 201-9, Zubair Shafique top-scoring with 48. Kennington were restricted to 179-6 in reply, Andy Bradford taking 3-52.
