Re-submit idea

With regard to the story, 'Dream' clock snub upsets Rotary Club, (Didcot Herald, April 17), I was told, as indeed your report also says, that the planners were concerned about vandalism.

The Rotary Club should re-submit a revised application that is more vandal resistant, taller, perhaps, and more robust still, but not a challenge to climb, and even a little more modern design. Hopefully, something that will be pleasing to all can be found.

After all, we know this area is prone to vandalism, as the modern Orchard Centre is badly vandalised.
