Arsonist targets car dealer
Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was set alight at Mellors of Challow in Faringdon Road, East Challow.
A green Citroen C3 was set alight and the flames spread to a red Chrysler Voyager which was parked nearby at about 2am on Saturday.
PC Natasha Park, based at Wantage police station, said: "If it wasn't for the quick actions of a local resident alerting the emergency services the situation could have been a lot worse causing greater damage to nearby properties and a serious risk to life.
"I would like to make a direct appeal to anyone who may have any information about this arson to contact me."
Anyone with any information about the incident to contact PC Park at Wantage police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don't want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
