Man found guilty of party assault

A MAN who put a father-of-one into a permanent coma after punching him at a party has been found guilty of GBH and will be jailed for a "substantial" amount of time.

Thomas Hurley, 22, was found guilty by a jury at Oxford Crown Crown Court today of grievous bodily harm for an attack on 36-year-old Andrew Williams at a party in February last year.

Hurley, formerly of Dorchester in South Oxfordshire but now living in Dorset, claimed he acted in self-defence.

He was cleared of one count of GBH with intent.

Judge Antonio Bueno adjourned sentencing until later this month but told Hurley he faced a "substantial" jail sentence.
