Drama group celebrates 25 great years

THE longest running drama group in Didcot is celebrating a milestone anniversary.

Didcot Phoenix Drama Group turns 25 this year, with no fewer than 75 productions under its belt.

Chairman, Mark Padbury, said: "We are confident the shows we are producing this year will make the year memorable to all who come and watch them. I very much look forward to the next 25 years."

The group have performed an average of three productions a year and are celebrating by giving away five pairs of tickets to the opening night of Macbeth on May 29. Sandra Regan, director of the upcoming production and member who has tread the boards since 1988, said: "Seventy-five productions is extraordinary for an amateur group like our own."
