Burglars raid homes

POLICE today appealed for information following two burglaries in the Vale of the White Horse.

Between 5pm on Thursday, March 20, and 2pm on Monday, a house in The Old Pound in Wootton was burgled. Details were only released this afternoon.

The thieves smashed a window at the back of the property and stole jewellery and cash.

On March 20, a house in Packhorse Lane, Marcham, was also broken into and laptops, a camera and a bank statement were stolen.

Det Con Chris Leach said: "We suspect that these burglaries could be linked. They happened over the long Easter weekend when there were people around who may have seen something or someone suspicious in the area."

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact Det Con Leach at Abingdon police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you do not want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
