Youth plans discussed

DETAILS about the future of Wallingford's youth club, in Clapcot Way, are being worked out by officers at Oxfordshire County Council.

They expect to put in a formal planning application to South Oxfordshire District Council by July.

There is £730,000 in the kitty to replace the dilapidated buildings, which were put up in the 1940s as a base for Land girls working in the fields around the town.

The county council hopes to earmark some of the land for housing to pay for much of the redevelopment.
